Poem: Broken Vows

Julia wrote this poem as part of her Capstone project.
Poem: Broken Vows

You express your solitude but we both know it’s just for show.

Your pin is nothing more than a cloak of immunity.

Do the years of being silenced and dishonored mean nothing to you?

We say “Time’s Up” but the clock rewinds itself to replay wretched acts.

Compliance and intimidation keeps you in power.

Compliance and intimidation is good for business.

Are we people to you?

Convicts are never truly brought to justice, children’s cries muffled by ignorance and disregard.

He took away innocence and trust only to gain more power.

Court cases and convictions irrelevant to the money hungry pigs.

You continue to rise in status and fame while neglecting your shameful past.
